Barrio Gaudí - R. Bofill (RBTA)
This was the first experience of the Bofill Studio in large scale social housing. Built in 1968, this complex sought new shapes and geometries that created pleasing public spaces where neighbours and families could meet and spend time. The idea of monotonous blocks was broken, and
hierarchical volumes are displayed in a way that allows subjects to be oriented along the spaces, but also allowing a certaing degree of discovery as one moves though those spaces.
Here in this complex I shot my first ever roll of film and there I held a photo camera for the first time in my life. I went back 5 years later. The shapes, colors, and the play geometric shadows over the walls reminded me why I shoot architecture...
